Can the TI-89 find indefinite integrals?

If you give me 10 minutes with an 8th grader, I can probably have him ace a calculus test with a TI-89..

What if they require work to be shown? :p

I guess you could teach him how to find lots of it using a calc, but that requires a bit more thinking

Never once took a calculus test where a calculator (even an 89) would have made a difference.

Me neither, many of my exams have been completely calculator-less

I've never even used these graphing calc's, either in high school or university. From Calc 1-4, I was never allowed to have a calculator, and frankly the fact that some schools allow it is ridiculous. I'm of the school of thought that you should learn the basic fundamentals and understand them. Then and only then should you use a calc to speed up your calculations.

Anyone here use VTI? I have it on both my home and work computers when I don't have ready access to my 89.

You've never taken a calculus test where you had to compute a difficult integral, derivative, sum, etc.?
