first tracy is out. then yao is out. then tracy is out again. and yao is still out. and there are about 5 other players that have been out this season. without tracy they're winless. with tracy they're well over .500, especially if you take out the games where tracy was basically sitting on the bench all game due to his injury.

i know it sucks!!!!
they will have to try to get near .500 before the all star break if they want to make the playoffs
good thing is they are only 5 games out of the 8th playoff spot!!

They need to try to get some wins here and there so they can stay in the playoff picture. Once their stars are healthy they're going to have to make a serious push for the playoffs by putting together some serious win streaks.

:( Yeah it sucks big time.

I had tickets to the Nuggets game too because I did the Rockets Run, but I decided not to go. Good thing too, I would have been really depressed.

But it does get us a better chance to get a good draft pick right? ;)

Yao sucks. He has no post up moves.
I've watched a few games this season and everytime they dump the ball inside to him, he stumbles around the paint and chucks up a bad shot.
The times he shoots a jumper it goes in, or comes close.

Either Van Gundy has to force him to practice and develop some moves, or realize that he can't and just have him take mid-short range jumpers.
Just stay around the paint and grab the re's for easy put backs.

Is Ewing still an assistant coach for the Rockets?

Yeah Ewing is coaching Yao. They need Olajuwan to coach Yao. It fits his style better.

And, yeah, Yao needs to quit being a baby and take the slashes like all the rest of the centers in the NBA.

The Tracy injury worries me alot.
I love Tmac... but WTF!
What type of back issues is he having? They say its not a physical problem.... nothing broken.

Geez... and I was hoping the Rockets would lift my spirits after watching Chicago take the series and the Texans crapping out. :(

The Rockets should develop a gameplan to get the no. 6 seed. The no. 6 seed (right now) plays the lowly Jazz, while the no. 5 seed plays the Mavericks. They should do all they can to get the no. 6 seed, even if it means losing the last game of the season on purpose. That should be their easiest road through the playoffs now, since winning the division is probably not going to happen.

he's not a superstar that can carry a team...but neither is t-mac (a la orlando). he's a good center - there are not many centers in the league who can give you a consistent 20-9 on 51%. i'd take yao over any center besides shaq

Yep, out of all the players listed at Center, Yao leads in scoring at 19.9. Not one player listed at center is averaging 20 or more points, Shaq is averaging 18.6 points so far this season.
