Can the Promise IDE raid controller on the K7T Turbo be run as ata100?

The manual doesn't specify a jumper to disable the raid controller and support standard ata100 devices. Is this board limited to 4 ide devices only?

I think this link might help to answer your question, but it does say limited so I am not sure if it also applies to the normal K7T Turbo. Good luck!

That jumper exists only on the limited edition board, much to my chagrin.

I do believe, however, that there is a hacked BIOS revision out there that can disable the RAID functionality of the Promise controller altogether. I haven't tried it, but I'm seriously considering it.

That's a good question John, I'd like to find out too. MSI didnt implement it very well, I heard that you have to set arrays to use ATA100 devices even if you're not doing RAID. The RAID/ATA jumper only exist on the Limited Edition, I think its very useful. The OCer's BIOS only gives you the option to turn off the Promise controller entirely.

Hey guys, all I could get it to do was recognize a single HDD on one of the promise controllers. If you hooked up a slave on the same IDE channel, it wouldn't see it. In addition, if you put it as master on the 2nd "Promise" controller it would not see it either.
