Can the Patriots get some respect now?

Two games in and the Patriots are looking great. They whipped the Steelers in convincing fashion and are doing the same to the Jets right now. So how much will the Chiefs be giving them next week?

How bout the Panthers? Don't they deserve some respect? They're 2-0 now (they're really punishing the Lions right now.)

Bottom line--two games doesn't mean jack...

Neither does a Superbowl win, apparently.

It's cool, they'll be 12-0, and you guys will still say "Geeze, when are they gonna stop getting lucky?" :) Some don't learn

Evidently the fact that they won their last 9 last year and a Super Bowl doesn't mean anything either. Or how about the fact they have the same depth at defense and added players to improve their offense. They just beat two teams that people picked to either win the Super Bowl, AFC or AFC East in more than convincing fashion.

The reason they don't get the respect they deserve is people are too shocked. The fact that they won the superbowl last year with a team that 'sucked' still prevails in most people's mind. People are in denial. The pats are a damn good team, and the fact they systematically dismantled the steelers (twice now!) and the jets should show that. Come on, look at the passing game. It's probably one of the top four in the league. You have Patton, Brown, Branch. Good TEs, a solid running-back, and a great QB. And not mention the coaching staff!

My advice to the rest of the NFL: Quit being in denial because a kid who was drafted 188th three years ago lead a team full of 'rejected (mostly)' players to the superbowl. Either that or prepare to be shocked again when they kick ur arse ;)

I'm looking forward to the Giants-Rams and Raiders-Steelers games to see if the Patriot's game plans are copied.

I wouldn't be surprised. I think the rams are in for a lot of trouble if people start hitting them like the pats did in the superbowl.

I don't think those WRs will make it through the season if they keep getting beat up on like they did against the Pats and the Broncos.

If it's any consolation, the Saints get even less respect. They just beat two pretty solid teams in a row, the Bucaneers and Packers, and no one has them on the radar. They're a lock to win their division IMHO, and perhaps a pretty favorable at-home schedule for the playoffs.

That's it. Game over. The patriots are repeat superbowl champions, no need to even finish the season. :D

(and no, i'm not a bandwagon fan, i've been a pats fan for over 10 years, through thick and thin, and boy was there a lot of thin!)

I have to admit, I had absolutely no respect for the Pats up to the beginning of this year, but once I watch the Steelers and Jets games, I'm completely convinced they are one of the best looking teams out there right now. They seem to have no running game whatsoever, but it seems that it doesn't really matter. Their offensive and defensive schemes are ridiculously ingenious. I have to give credit to the coaches even more than to Tom Brady whom I give mad props to.
