Can the Leadtek TV2000XP be used with satellite?

I remember reading a while ago that you can't use the card's tuner with a dish, but you can set the tuner box to the channel you want and run that signal directly to the capture card. Is that right?

With the price of the Leadtek so low now, I'd like to get one to record the news.

 
You are correct. A tuner card will not work with satellite, just the capture part. I have my direct tv system hooked to my tv tuner card and I have to change channels on the satellite reciever. I shouldn't have said a tv tuner card will not work, you can use one, but the tuner function will not work, it will allow you to capture satellite tv though.
