Can the CoolerMaster Hyper TX2 be used for a Phenom II?

BTW, the Hyper TX2 is a heatsink/fan.
I have one in an unopened package and would like to find a use for it.
The package is old, predating the Phenom I believe, but lists sockets AM2, LGA 775 as well as the 939 and 754.
The hottest CPU listed seems to be the FX-64. I know it's not considered a great cooler but it may be better than the stock cooler for the Phenom I'm considering-- II X2 555.
And yes, I am considering unlocking the 2 locked cores.
Overclocking is a given.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. 939/AM2/AM3 is all the same I think when it comes to mounting brackets, and the HyperTX2 comes with AM2 mounting brackets. Although, in my opinion, they look kind of flimsy and haphazard. I use the TX2s on a couple of 775 E2140 @ 3.2Ghz rigs, and they work pretty well.

Much better. The stock i5 hsf is horrible, I don't know how the Phenom default hsf is though. My OC temps with the TX2 are lower than the temps I got with the stock hsf at stock speed. While the TX2 is old, it's not obsolete by any means.

I gotta thank EVGA for that. They ingeniously decided to include LGA775 mounting holes in addition to the 1156 holes on their P55 boards.
