Can the ASUS CUV4X detect chips faster than 800?

A bios flash gone awry took out my last abit board (which replaced a no-name board taken out by a surge). I replaced it with the ASUS CUV4X and overclocked my 366 cel to 458mhz (won't boot if I go faster).
Since I can't go with an AMD product without switching boards, I'll eventually upgrade to a PIII. The question is though, how high can I go? Looking at the jumpers and the mb manual, it looks like the board cuts off at 800mhz. However, a couple sales people I talked to said it can handle any coppermine. That said, I wouldn't want to buy a 1.33 Ghz only to have it run at 800.

The last time I checked the ASUS site, they didn't have any bios updates.

If anyone could shed a little light on the matter, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Yes, this board will handle Coppermines with no problem.

The latest BIOSes for this board are
1007 Final and
1009 Beta 006

I recommend that you go with the 1009 Beta 006 BIOS for full support for the cC0 and cD0 stepping Coppermine processors.

As Intel processors are multiplier locked, you will have no problems with processors faster than 800MHz.
