Can the Abit KT7 board run a PCI 2.2 card?

I've got an Abit KT7-RAID board (ancient, I know), and I've heard that its RAID-1 functionality isn't that great (apparently the HPT370 doesn't do a good job detecting or handling bad sectors), so I'm interested in getting a 3ware 7006-2 RAID controller. The manual for that controller says it requires a PCI 2.2 slot that is 32-bit/66MHz. I believe the KT7 boards have 32-bit PCI slots running at 33 MHz, but the controller should be backwards compatible and run at 33 MHz, right? What I'm not sure about is the PCI 2.2 requirement... I think the KT7 boards have PCI 2.1 slots, so I'm not sure if that will cause any problems for the controller?

I don't have an answer for you, but just wanted to say YEAH! to another KT-7 RAID owner...here is one of the KT-& RAID FAQ that might be of help...I always just used the RAID to run several HDs and ROMs...good luck...

Hmm, I've seen some people say that the chipset determines the PCI version. And I did find out that some old Gigabyte motherboards that used the VIA KT133 chipset (the same chipset used by the KT7-RAID) had PCI 2.2 slots. So is it true that the chipset is what determines the PCI version? If so, then my KT7-RAID has PCI 2.2 slots.
