Can the Abit KR7A-RAID be run as 4 IDE channels(8 devices)?

I know that that the Soyo Dragon + has a bios selection allowing the 2 raid channels to be run as additional IDE's. Does the Abit allow the same option?
 
Yes you can use them as regular IDE channels without utilizing any of them optional RAID functionality.
 
Yes you can, but I think that the high point IDE channels can only be used for hard drives, not ATAPI devices like DVD/CD drives.
 
Would anyone happen to know if it is necessary to use the HightPoint drivers for XP when using the Abit motherboard in a non-RAID configuration?
