No I am not going to OC it now.. maybe later when prices of memory drops.. can it still work with the IS7 and the 800 MHZ FSB 2.4 GHZ CPU from Intel ??

Yes, pc2700 runs at default speed using a 5:4 memory ratio at 200FSB(800mhz default speed). You can also use a 3:2 ratio and use pc2700 at higher FSB speeds.

I'm using Samsung pc2700 at 275FSB with a 3:2 ratio, for example, but your mileage may vary.

For fun, I recently tested some vintage Samsung PC2700: 0208 CTLs that ruled the roost in their heyday (maybe 1.5 years ago). They actually outperformed my Corsair XMS3500 in a P4G8X. They could do 184, 2-2-2-5 at 2.7 volts whereas my Corsair could only do 2-2-2-6. And I've done DDR500, 2-2-2-5 on the Corsair!

I ran the sticks on an Epox 4PCA3+ and was astonished to find it did DDR443, 2.5-3-3-6, at just 2.6 volts! At that voltage, they are outperforming some guys with OCZ PC3700.

However these are select sticks, the same batch date that did DDR400-420 at 2-2-2-5 at 3.1 volts, really a big deal in those days. Pretty much like doing DDR500, 2-2-2-5 nowadays. At the time, no ram could do DDR400 at 2-2-2-5.

The later batch of CTLs made after maybe 0219-0220, or the DTL sticks, did not perform nearly as well.

Which ratio will clock your RAM higher? 3:2 or 5:4? How do you calculate this anyway?
Thanks.

To calculate with 3:2

FSB divided by 3 mutliply by 2 gives memory speed. multiply by 2 again because it's double-data-rate memory

So at 200fsb using 3:2 ddr memory speed is 133 times 2 or DDR266.(pc2100)
