can`t receive emails

Any idea why i can send an email but not receive them my account has been up and running a while and has been fine , i did use outlook express but that wouldn`t let me send or receive , i`ve now changed to microsoft outlook which lets me send but i`m not receiving anything , many thanks

ps , by the way i`ve checked all the email settings and they seem fine
