I've become a SpeedFan devotee'.
I use it to control my Delta 120x38mm CPU fan -- holding it at about 2,200 rpm below temperatures of 40C. And of course, Speedfan polls the mobo / CPU sensors to grab voltage, temperature and fan-speed readings.
So does S&M.
After two cases where the iterative memory test component of S&M stopped with a message window showing "S&M voltage test interrupted at 4.7V," I checked the Speedfan graphs on the 5V rail. Never varied beyond 4.98 to 5.02V. But S&M showed a voltage drop on the 5V rail almost to 0 -- in one sharp spike.
And I'm thinking that S&M and SPeedfan may collide in polling the sensors.
I ran S&M after terminating Speedfan.
No more problem.
Anyone else experience this? Does my diagnosis seem reasonable?
