Can Sonoma chipset support banias 705 CPU?

Hello,

WHile seeking for a decent barebone to replace for my old Gateway 4520 (M320) laptop, i ran across the ASUS Z63A barebone w/dvd rw for $ 580. It looks nice but I'm not sure if the Sonoma chipset would support a 705 banias CPU (1.5 mhz 1mb L2) from the gateway.
I know the RAM can not be interchanged and that's fine but, if the CPU can't be interchanged then I'm out of luck.
BTW, anyone know if the Z63a case is made of plastic or alloy?

Thanks.

It should have no problem.

I wonder if a pin-mod would work on that old thing. I think it would technically work, but I'm not sure if the processor itself could handle it. If it did work though, you'd get 2ghz out of that thing.

It would be awsome if it can be swapped.
I would like to use the 705 banias, 768 DDR333 and 40gig 7200rpm HD on that ASUS Z63a.

the ct479 is an adapter made by asus to use pentium m's on asus p4 boards. You do not need to worry about it.
