Ok that should work, thanks guys.

You can IM me over AIM (CompuWiz231) to let me know your going to sign on. Lot's of good stuff to download, trust me 😉

open port 21.

give us your external IP (the IP on the ISP side of your router)

if you go into your router's setup (usually 192.168.2.1) it should tell you your WAN IP or external IP (same thing)
good luck 🙂

or winipcfg or ipconfig will give you all the info that you need. default gateway (router ip), WAN, etc... just make sure you forward requests to port 21 to the right LAN ip.

that is either the ip of your router or an ip of a machine on your lan. we need your wan ip which would be something that doesn't start in 192. winipcfg should give you the info.

The only IP I found in the Broadband Router was this one:

12.236.182.71

I think that is the one provided by my ISP, however I can't get serv-u (ftp server software) to let me change the server IP. Any ideas?

Ya set your DMZ host to 1, and port forwarding to [port] ???? [2000 etc etc--21----458---]192.168.1.{100}

Your machine after dmz host will be 192.168.1.100

This is if you have a linksys router

You will still have to connect via ISP assigned IP address , and if both machines are behind a firewall wont be able to connect. At least I havent figured how to do so.
