Q is silent.

There's a reason why only a few people can pronounce my last name correctly... Duong 😛 D is silent, but they can't follow through with the rest.

That's the "incorrect" way to say it. I don't remember which region of Vietnam it is, but there are some that pronounce QU as W, whereas the "proper" way to do it is as a K sound.

I learned this from my Advanced Vietnamese class in college 😛
