Having serious issues with my rig right now. In the middle of playing sc2 when screen becomes all pixelated and proceeds to freezes, which has led to a series of events:

1) Hard restart, browse web for a bit, everything is fine. Go back to sc2 (video game), comp gets pixelated, green horizontal lines plague the screen, freezes.
2) Hard restart, everything boots normally, browsing the web on how to use memtest.
3) start memtest, comp crashes!!!!!!
4) Hard reboot, comp wont even load, blue screen.
5) Start testing the ram, taking sticks out, trying them in different slots. No luck, still can boot operating system.
6) Start in safemode, everything boots but with white dashed lines running vertically down my screen, start running memtest, no errors in ram.
7)cant try swapping gfx card cause i have no other AGP card to try.

Im super lost. After 2nd crash thought it was my graphics card. after memtest crash and blue screen assumed ram. I did do the oven trick on the card about 6 months ago (http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2080412&highlight=).

Do you guys have ne idea on what could be causing this issue? I took a photo of step 6, while the comp runs memtest in safe mode.

My magicball says your card is dead..

can't you just bake it again?

or maybe this is a sign to upgrade the system 😉

Screen corruption on the desktop very often means video card RAM dying. So that's my best bet.

Also, there are no 8-series+ cards on AGP. Only PCI-e.

OP, have you blown out the card's fan and heatsink with compressed air? A friend had similar issues back in the day with his 6800. I took his PC apart and the fan and heatsink were caked with dust, which was causing the card to overheat. Once we cleaned it out, it worked fine.

By the way, AFAIK, there were no AGP cards in the 8x00 series. So either you have a PCI-e card or you don't have an 8800 GTS.

Six months seems to be about the average rate that the bake job lasts. Honestly, in most cases it is a temporary fix for a permanent problem.

I see deal on flEbay for 8800 series cards, but I myself would be hard pressed to buy one after seeing so many issues with them where a seller is looking to make a fast buck on a baked card.

alright thanks guys and I apologize for mistyping agp instead of pci-e, i guess old habits die hard.

Going to have to replace the graphics card. thanks.

It seems you have more than one problem. You have a bad ram, and you have a weird screen. The best bet is to bring the all thing to a shop. Be prepared to get a whole new system.
