Could someone try this setup?

2 ati pci-e cards preferrebly the x800's and up
in a
Dfi mobo that has DXG technology, preferrebly the Ultra-D but the sli-d and sli-dr could work too (Edit: might only work with ultra-d mobo's)

Set the jumpers on the board so that the lanes run (x4 x8 x0 x8) and then the regular (x1 x16 x1 x2) and try the ati cards in each x8 pci-e lane and later in x16 and x2

please post benchmarks with each setting and a single card...

lol, so basically in latent terms
Setup 1 (x4 x8 x0 x8) jumper settings with cards in x8
Setup 2 (x1 x16 x1 x2) jumper settings with cards in x16 and x2
Setup 3 (x1 x16 x1 x2) jumper settings with 1 one card in x16

Nope, won't work.

As of now, ATI vid cards can't do SLI (especially on an Nvidia-chipset motherboard!). You will have to get NVidia cards to do that.

How do you expect the boards to communicate with each other? Nvidia has a bridge adaptor specifically designed for SLI.

also, there are no ati drivers that work like that.

I know, but we all know Dfi took Sli to another extent, but forget about Sli i'm talking about DFI's proprietary DXG technology that allows double pcie cards to be used. Now i'm thinking if you switch the jumpers then interestingly you could get some interesting results.

Guys take sli out of your vocab for now.

No drivers, hmmmm :-D, and the pipes on 6800 cards are not unlockable and overclocking is not real.

mwmorph, xbox have modchip hacks, dfi has sli hacks, people make drivers. If this serves as something that does work people will make drivers.

Where was opengl hacks and drivers from video card companies.... people made them.

The DXG by itself is not a performance bump solution. it is just a way to have 2 independant pci-e cards so you can run 4 monitors.

Homeslice if you dont want to try it stop giving me reasons why you dont want to, you dont need my permission to not try.

You're not understanding - the framebuffers won't be bound into a single logical display like they are with the nVidia solution; you'll end up with a primary and secondary display, no different than if you were using an AGP and a PCI video card.

Even if someone did set this up and benchmark it, the results would be useless because the resolution would be totally nonstandard (one of the two components would be double IE 640x960 or 1280x480, 1024x1536 or 2048x768).

dude man, it is not gonna happen .sorry man but i would've loved to see ti too but the modded drivers and the interface is just not tjere. right now, it is basically the same as 1 agp and 1 pci card because with DXG, all there is is 1 x16 slot card running at pcie x16 running independanty from another vidoe card in the other pci-e 16x slot running at pci-e x2. no way to force them together.
