I'll try. Can you just link the image directly though? I don't clink links to stuff.

China is going down in flames.

That's not an exact translation, but that's the message.

I don't really care for Japanese newspapers. You open the damn things up and instantly feel stupid about how much Kanji you haven't seen in a while or can't read.

Nothing a electronic dictionary with a stylus can't fix.

And?

As much as I wished I knew every kanji there is, I don't and I've met many Japanese who don't either. I suppose if they did, there wouldn't be such a robust offering of electronic kanji dictionaries available in Japan.

You've Met many Japanese people born in the US who don't know? Seriously, my nine-year old niece can comprehend a newspaper and the vast majority of the Japanese people can as well.

You don't have to know "every kanji there is," only the basic ones that everyone who speaks the Japanese language should know.

It says stuff about how good the writer is at math, but can not master driving.

I don't know any Japanese people born in the US. If you're going to sit there and deny that many Japanese people don't know all 2,000+ Joyoo kanji, then you're full of it. I've met quite a few of them through language exchange. It's not a huge deal, there are tons of resources for people to power up their kanji abilities. I have a few textbooks and programs that drill you on it.

I don't like to read Japanese newspapers. Our textbook is in Japanese, its a lot more interesting and worth my time practicing my Kanji reading skills with.

I didn't say I couldn't comprehend a newspaper, I just said Japanese newspapers bash me over the head with Kanji that I have neglected or Kanji that I haven't seen in a while.
