to what CPU speed is my Asus motherboard upgradeable to? It's the Asus A7V133

link : http://usa.asus.com/mb/socketa/a7v133/overview.htm

I tried to get in touch with Asus about it but their email/phone system just does'nt seem to help.

Would really appreciate if someone could give me a definite answer. Gotta upgrade this 1.2 for that UT 2k3 :)

Cheers

Bumpity Bump (anyone?)

If someone would be kind enough to tell me if the Athlon XP series of CPUs would work, I'd be very happy. I just don't know if they would tho, even tho the FSB of 266 is supported by my archaic MB. Anything I'm missing here?

Thx

If you click on your own link and read it, it says 1.3 Ghz. Do you not read? In which case why am I typing this? Hmmmm. I'm not sure which one of us is sillier. Check the bios update and this is what you will find.

A7V133 (217501 bytes)

Add support for AMD Athlon XP CPU(PCB ver. must be 1.05. or above, if ver. less than 1.05.,it would not be support with those CPU.)

ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.

This is from the Bios info on your own link.

The reason I posted the subject was because it says 1.3ghz+ (not just 1.3ghz). Just curious about what the + sign denoted.

Also, I saw the part about the XP update as well, but no reference to how to determine PCB id (nothing on the board physically I could tell).

All I was wondering was if someone has a high speed (pref 2.0 ghz+ XP cpu running on this board).

You can find your PCB rev printed in small lettering next to the name of the motherboard on the board itself.

Usually between the PCI slots. Should read ASUS A7V133 ver #
Sorry if I seemed rude before. No offense intended. :)
1.3+ means 1.3 and higher. T bird goes to 1.4,which are discontinued,XPs starts at 1500+ @ 1.33 and up from there. Hope this helps.
