Can someone tell me what's the difference between the 1st,2nd and 3rd gen Ipod?

2nd gen, touch scroll wheel - horrible HD crashes
3rd gen, touch scroll wheel, touch buttons - sketchy battery

but I guess the iTunes for the PC was sh1tty as ever for all 3 generations.... or has it gotten worse ??

Well, there's a fourth version out now.

I actually prefer the design of the 3rd generation over the fourth. Excluding the battery life, Those four buttons on top makes life much easier compared to consolidating everything on a single wheel. But then again, I don't have a 4th gen... and my main mp3 player is an iRiver now 🙂
