huh?

I'm referring to this :

Sec. 30-32. Warehouse permit. A warehouse bottling permit shall allow the storage
and bottling of alcoholic liquor on the premises of a bonded warehouse, but no such permit
shall be granted unless the place has received the approval of the Department of Consumer
Protection. A warehouse storage permit shall allow the storage of alcoholic liquor on the
premises of a bonded warehouse, but no such permit shall be granted unless the place has
received the approval of the department. The annual fee for a warehouse bottling permit shall
be one hundred sixty dollars and for a warehouse storage permit shall be thirty-five dollars.

Think of it a business insurance for the customer vs for the business.

Bonded means that the business is expected to perform the service as contracted. They have insurance to cover any losses to the client due to failure of the business to complete the agreement

Without seeing the bond form to be used, I can't say exactly. In general you'd be applying to a surety/insurance company for bond credit to guarantee that either:

a) No material left the warehouse unaccounted for
and/or
b) Taxes and Tariffs were properly collected when merchandise did leave

This is a standard practice in warehousing, especially with alcohol, tobacco, electronics, and imports/exports.

So assuming I've imported something and paid the duty on it must it still be placed in bonded storage?

"All you gotta do, is look for a truck with the letter B on it!"

"Why B?" "BONDED! Bonded trucks, can get into bonded warehouses!"

"How do you know all of this?!"

"...A little bit of work in bonded warehouses!"

"Fair enough!"
