Can someone show me their googleing skills? I need the impossible.

I have a 1988 Lincoln Town car, what I need is a picture or diagram of the inside of the drivers door, mainly the door lock area where the bar comes up to the door lock itself.

Im trying to fix it and it has come loose and there is the bar with a plastic par attached to it, which I feel is broken, or it obviously attaches somewhere but for the life of me I can figure out where and Im almost positive there is another piece missing, but its not inside the door. Which should be since the door is like new with no rust and has no where to go 😛

So if anyone can use their googeling master skills and conger me up a picture, diagram, what ever of the drivers side, or even passengers side, I would really appreciate it so I can finish it and put it all together.

TIA

Try your local book store for an 80's Lincoln Repair guide, that should have it.

I have 2, one has no clue what I am talking about for they have a 16 year old behind the counter who cannot look up a thing, and the other is 45 minutes away, has a diagram, but can only fax me a picture and has no way of emailing it to me. I do not own a fax machine, so so far im screwed.

As far as buying a chiltons book for this, hell no, not gonna happen to spend $20 when I know everything there is to know mechanically,on this car, aside of this damn door lock.

those online autoparts stores sometimes have diagrams available - try looking for replacement parts. i was looking for a good diagram for the sliding door lock assy for a honda odyssey even though i had the service manual - one of those online stores had a better diagram.
