Yeah...It's spotless... I was able to copy the file to my hard drive and even burn a copy of the files to another cd... The install just doesn't go any further.Originally posted by: Heisenberg
Did you see if the disc is clean?
Where's the ISO release? I checked EA's website and didn't see anything...they have crappy tech support too.Originally posted by: EKKC

Well....my cd key is what really cost me $45, not the cd itself...it's sad that I can't install it...grrr. When running the installer, it specifically has to obtain the files from the cd location...it won't install from a local directory on the hard drive....this sucks...Originally posted by: Nik

He's referring to obtaining an otherwise illegal copy if you had not purchased the game.![]()
Use something like Daemon Tools, rip the CD to an iso, and try that.Originally posted by: Scarpozzi

Just download a copy and use your legally-purchased CD key - that has to be semi-legal.

What the installer does is check the location of where the installer was loaded from. When the install launches, it says "where am I being loaded from? Oh, the D: drive? Okay, when I need the second disk for install, I'm going to look to the D: drive first."
Most installers give you the option of where to tell the installer to look for additional installation media, but that's only because the software designers built the installer to function that way. Some programmers choose not to put that much effort into it, so they only give the installer the option of reading from the initial installation location.
That being said, if you put all of the .cab files and other files required by the installer into one folder on your desktop, including the installer itself (setup.exe, most of the time), whe you launch the installer, it will see that it's being launched from location C:\windows\desktop or whatever. When it gets to the break in the install that tells the installer to prompt for the next installation media, it will check that same location for the next bit of data and will see that it's in the same location and continue with the install.
Kinda like *instantly* switching CDs.
I can't imagine programmers designing an installer that is hard-coded to look at the D: drive... what if the user has their optical drive assigned to the H: drive letter?
...either that or I'm WAY off.![]()

data3.cab I think. The prob is that the install starts and goes until it is ready for disc 2. It says it's trying to load FuShe_Pass\client.zip...I put disc 2 in the drive and it never continues the install. I'm assuming the file is corrupt.
