I need it to be as cheap as possible, but have all of these things. I can build it myself, I was just wondering which parts to order and from who and how much they cost.
Athlon or Pentium 3
256 megs ram
CDR
DVD
>= 40 gig hard drive
mid tower case (or a full tower if it is within reason)
17" monitor (19" if its just an outstanding deal)
keyboard
mouse
sound card (listening to music mostly, maybe a dvd or two)
modem (was thinking of that Lucent winmodem Modulus raves about)
network card (nic)
floppy drive
This system will have Windows 2000 installed onto it. I'm trying to put together this system for a good friend and those are the things he wanted it to have.
Remember, think cheap (except for maybe the P3 and Athlon, which he REALLY wants -no Celeron or Duron-).
