Can someone recommend me a video card?

I just got a new dell 24' monitor but my graphics card right now doesnt have a dvi port so I will need to upgrade my video card. I have a agp motherboard im looking at $100-200 range.

I mainly do web design (adobe, macromedia) and little bit of 3d, I hardly play any games. It would be nice if someone can recommend me a video card, thanks a lot!

If you'd like to stick to AGP, either the X850XT, 6800GS or 6800GT.
If you want to move to PCI-E, still the 6800GS but other great choices would be a Connect3D X800GTO or Saphire X800GTO^2.

Something in the 6600gt - x800 range should work nicely.

$249 - 50 MIR = $199 X850XT AGP
This is as good as it gets for now for AGP users. Jump on the rebate before Jan 31st (as long as the purchase is made before Feb 1st, you have lots of time to send the rebate in).

But if you really don't do any gaming, then I'd go for $128 X1600Pro AGP
It'll have dual link DVI to suppor the large monitor and amazing video quality with avivo.

1st link: That's pci-e, won't work. Not only that, it's not that great of a price either.
2nd link: Meh.
3rd link: Good for the price.

I was thinking about that card but it says 1600 x 1200 is the max resolution. Wouldnt I need a bigger resolution for the 24'?

I think the website made a mistake though. Here are ATI website specs:

X850XT specs

You can always make a quick post to all AGP X850XT users if their card supports 2048x1536 in gaming from a DVI connection.

If you truly want to stick with an AGP card, you may want to check out the BFG 7800GS card. It was supposed to be released yesterday at my local CompUSA, but they're not on the shelves yet. I've read that other CompUSA's have them on the shelf...I believe the price point is $350, but I'm not sure...Might be worth looking into.

final question before I purchase.
It says :
"2048 x 1536 x 32bit x 85 Hz Max Analog
1600 x 1200 Max Digital"

Does that mean the DVI only goes to 1600 x 1200 and VGA goes to 2048 x 1536? I searched many of the high end cards and they state the same. Wouldnt I need a higher resolution for a big monitor that has dvi?

If u hardly play games u dont need to spend over $200. Whats the point of buying super dooper graphics card for photoshop and dreamweaver.

I have feeling u need a dual dvi graphics card for your 24" Dell. I think the evga 6600gt link u gave has 1 vga out, 1 dvi only. U may have to get the PNY u linked for $139 or heres xfx 6600gt agp with dual dvi.

I think newegg has listed max resolution for 6600gt as
2048x1536@85Hz. I dont see where it shows seperate max resolutions for cards with dual dvi.
