No brainer to me, Samsung LCDs rock - check out the ratings. $402 shipped or something like that.

even though its name brand, it's probably not that great. good 17" lcds for under $500 are old or arent as good as new ones. since lcd's are still pretty new technology as they keep on advancing, the older models are pretty weak if you are using them for gaming at all.

for under 400, id say thats your best bet, but thats my opinion
check around at different review sites
if youre gaming just make sure the latency is under 20 (16 or lower being really nice)

I'm wary of purchasing lcds online due to the 8 pixel limit. I'm sorry but 7 dead pixels on a $400 new lcd would really piss me off if I couldn't RMA it. I'm not sure this applies to all the online retailers but definitely does with newegg

you could take a look at the NEC 1760V-BK. Its price fluctuates from about 400 to 430 at Newegg
so it's a bit more, but it has a 16 ms response time and looks sweet. In my opinion one of the best
LCD's this side of the Samsung 172X.
