i don't use newsgroups much, except for alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.soundtracks, and with my current server i get alot of incomplete files. can someone recommend a good commercial news server? nothing crazy, just reliable in terms of complete posts and retention time....

thanks.

Easynews is a great. It archives binary files and gives it's users the ability to ZIP up files for easy downloading. They also provide regular a regular news server all for $9.98 a month.

Easynews is very reliable. They have very good completion and 37+ days of retention. D/L speed is pretty fast. $9.98/six gigs.

Giganews has better completion, but only about 11-12 days of retention. Speed is VERY fast. Various pricing plans, I'm on the 8gigs/$15 per month plan.

I subscribe to both to cover all bases. Both have been doing real good for a few years now. That's pretty good for newgroup servers. Usually a new company comes along, does real good at first, oversubscribes and goes down the tubes with slow d/l speeds and poor retention. So far this hasn't happened with Easy or Giga. (knock wood)
