Hello all. Came across this forum, seems very good for tech advice. I'm looking for a laptop the size of a macbook pro, 13" or so but want something that runs Windows, not Mac.

The hard part is my budget, around $400. I don't want a super slow laptop, something with a 4th gen core i3 would be nice. Have looked a Dell, they all seemed to be made out of plastic.

Looked at Lenovo, but they are super expensive, $1000 bucks.

15.6" is just too big and bulky. I started a new job that requires me to travel a to clients. Have looked at the detachable ones, whatever they are called.

Can anyone recommend something 1/2 way decent ?

Under $400 but it only meets some of your criteria:

If the VCO code still works you get $20 dollars less from Visa Checkout. This was edited in with the wiki of the slickdeal page you posted. This laptop hit frontpage for slickdeals which means it is a good deal.

I bought used T420's for all the kids. They are 14" and have Ivy i5 CPUs, so not quite what you are looking for, but you won't find a better laptop in that price range.
