The GF3's work great if you want to game. I've used the ATI AIW Radeon using the DVI connector as well as a Leadtek GF3 with DVI. Visual quality is identical (DVI wise, not VGA wise), but, obviously, the GF3 absolutely rocks the AIW in gaming.
<< I'm thinking about getting the Geforce2 Ultra. Would I notice much difference in going to a GF3? >>
I have a GeForce2 Ultra hooked up to my Viewsonic LCD and it works great. Obviously, the GF3 will give you better 3D performance, it's up to you whether you can afford a GF3.
both of the above are good suggestions.
i have and have used both the ati aiw radeon and the visiontek gf2 ultra dvi.
both rock on my viewsonic vg181.
i dont think that game speed is a problem with the radeon, though. i played max payne (supposedly a pretty graphics intensive game) through with no problems at 1024 x 768. didnt try it at 1280 x 1024 though.
i've never had a problem with my gf2ultra in any game at 1280 x 1024 though.
jusy my 0.02
