I'm looking for a new 32-inch HDTV, either LED/LCD or LCD. I have about $500 to spend, no interest in getting anything bigger than 32 inches. Any recommendations?
For example, my folks just got a 42" Vizio 1080p set with internet apps and all that jazz. Was $500 exactly. Only lacking feature I could see was it is a 60hz set. $80 got the same set but 120hz.
Maybe not the best TV but you'd be hard pressed to find a great TV as vi points out.
Walmart has this one for about $315. My niece just bought one and the picture is great, it has plenty of inputs and is overall a good tv. It isn't 1080p but I also use a tv of my own that is 32" 720p and I think at this screen size 1080p isn't needed. http://www.walmart.com/ip/LG-32LD350/13904848
I'm looking for 32-inches because I'm a student so I will probably be moving a lot and its difficult to move anything bigger. My friend has a 42-inch plasma and it is absolutely huge/bulky. I will be using it for watching Blu Ray movies and hooking up to my HTPC.
An IPS panel would be nice, I currently have a TN Panel Samsung and the viewing angle is terrible.
Ok. HTPC...then 1080p is required. You want the extra resolution. That panasonic above is a good choice. I've seen it on sale in the $350-$370 range from time to time.
I just bought this unit from est buy for $369 + tax. It's a solid unit..1080p and IPS were key for me since I plan on using it for my primary PC monitor. I have a very old rig ( only supports AGP 8X Video Cards!!) but am working on putting together a new one. I've ordered a geoforce 6200 card with a DVI to HDMI cable to get 1920 x1080. Until I can get that working, then I'll report back on image quality.
