my dad is going to take me out tomorrow to buy a new TV for my room. im looking for something:

cheap ($100-$200)
doesnt have to be large (at least 13")
playstation 2 games must look good on it

basically i feel like i have a lot of choices. what i want to know is, what are some of the things i should look for in terms of quality (resolution? lines? flat tube?) i have no knowledge on TVs so you guys will have to help me on this. because i dont see why a sony wega TV thats small costs 2x more then a TV that has stereo, and is 2x larger then it.

also, i have another question. is there any possible way i can connect the TV audio to a shelf system i have in my room instead of using the TV's built in audio? i know i can do this for the PS2, but is it possible for the TV itself? i dont think so right?

get at least a 19", 13" are a joke.

some tvs have audio out, with those you could run it to a stereo, in your price range you can't really get a flat screen I don't think. You may be able to get a pretty good 25" for that.

In that price range either a 20" Toshiba [mono-sound] or Panasonic [stereo sound] would fit you budget quite nicely IMHO.

My parents got this TV, pretty good picture. It even came with FM tuner.

Cool I didn't know it came with an FM tuner, if I wanted a quality small TV this is what I would buy.

Yeah, if you have a Sam's Club closer...we have those too. Same price I believe :)

thanks.

does the brand of TVs matter very much? im most definately going to go with a large brand (philips, panasonic, toshiba etc.) but are any real differences in quality between those large brands? if so, which ones would you guys recomend.

and where would you guys recomend i buy it? i was thinking frys. so if 13" is too small, 20" is about right?

I've never owned a Phillips TV, but my parents have both Toshiba & Panasonic TV's forever w/o any issues. As for where to buy it, I would suggest Sears as they have the best return policy by far IMHO.
