well, need an matx board with mcp-t, soundstorm and vcore adjustments. video doesn't matter. fsb adjustments doesn't matter. I want the core adjustment so i can under volt my processor. mine runs at 1.4 right now, hoping to go 1.2, maybe even 1.1 volts.

I want the soundstorm because it's for a htpc. I read that with the apu, the cpu does much less work.

thanks in advance.

I already have 2 a7n266-vm/aa, they're not compatible with my cpu. though about the shuttle, but no vcore. can anyone help?

I'm also curious what you found. I'm looking for a µATX mobo with MCP-T to fit in to my Antec Aria case. I would be happiest with an IGP version with onboard video and something with a firewire header on the board, though these are negotiable. I don't need voltage adjustments or overclocking options, but need an SP/DIF out to run to my stereo. I suppose Dolby encoding would also be a nice option, though I don't believe I need full Soundstorm certification.

A review & the blurb seem to imply that the Shuttle MN31L would fit the bill, offering MCP-T, Dolby encoding, but the actual places that sell them all deny this, claiming it has a vanilla MCP southbridge.
Since the Forum's html parsing seems mucked up at the moment:

The Biostar might work for me, but it isn't for sale anywhere I was able to find (the M7NCG-400 is a lesser breed with plain MCP).

I haven't seen any other options that would be more promising and may have to give up on my Aria case and buy a Shuttle SN41G2v.2.0 to fit in to my stereo rack.

well then people, get the biostar m7ncg 400. its a great board, imo, it only has two weak points: no socket holes for heatsinks, and the thermal control does not work. it has bios vcore adjustable from 1v to 2v, i dont remember but its somewhere areoudn there (its my dad's board, not mine) it has 3 slots for ram, takes mobile cpus (i borred the board for a while), has lots of good bios options, and in yur case, it is micro-atx. it has onboard video, sound, usb, the works (no firewire) as well as agp and 2 pci, so there is no lack of upgradability. the board is supported in linux just like other nvidia products. waht else do you want??

Would it be: Asus A7N8X-VM/400?

Biostar m7ncg 400
http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbd...ls.asp?model=m7ncg+400
does not have soundstorm, i jsut checked. but good board anyway. it does allow very low vcore. from my experience, it is really tough to get the cpu to go to 1.1v stable. i'm currently using a mobile 2600+(1.45v barton 2ghz) at 250*8 1.375v with a dfi infinity. i can go lower voltage, but in order for it to be stable, i must drop clockspeed WAY down. like, past 1ghz

I don't think so, it seems to have the plain MCP southbridge, as well. On the other paw, it does have a S/PDIF in / out interface, but no on-the-fly Dolby encoding. However it does come with:
DVO (Digital video output) interface DVO interface to a DVI transmitter and TV encoder offering simultaneous digital display and TV output. Enjoy nVIEW dual-display with the separately purchased AGP-NV-DVI card and TV out card.

He bought my old Biostar M7NCG (non 400) which had the MCP-T southbridge. This was a while back and it looks like Biostar no longer makes that mobo... darn shame too since there seems to be no mATX MCP-T motherboards manufactured anymore.
