Could someone please post a list of components that should be checked for the latest driver/bios update? I'm looking for something like the following:

- Motherboard BIOS
- Video Card Drivers
- Video Card BIOS

- Motherboard BIOS
- Video Card Drivers
- Video Card BIOS (this one might be tough to get updates for)

- Optical drive firmware
- Sound card drivers
- Modem drivers
- TV tuner drivers
- Motherboard chipset drivers

- And finally, software in the system. Windows, Spyware protection, antivirus, and any other apps you might have.
 
Thanks man! How difficult/dangerous is it to install a new motherboard BIOS and new motherboard chipset drivers??
 
Also - how do I check to see what my current mobo bios is? And, how do I check to see what version of motherboard chipset drivers I have?

And finally, where/how do I go about installing new mobo bios?
 
Modems can have firmware and driver updates.
Add-on hard drive controllers (SCSI, SATA, PATA, RAID) can have firmware and driver updates.
Some hard drives (IBM/Hitachi for example) can have firmware updates available.
Sound cards and integrated sound - driver updates.
Almost any type of add-on card may have firmware and/or driver updates.

Monitors can have .INF files available but they don't usually change.

ASPI layer software (DL from Adaptec.com).

and it just goes on and on...
