Hi, I have the gigabyte 8KNXP with a 2.8c P4, and 2 x 512mb Geil Ultra platinum dual channel memory. I can overclock easily to 3.5 - 3.7 Ghz using the 1.3 divider on the memory, but this only gets me 333mhz memory speed. The system runs fine with the 2.0 multiplier at stock speeds and timings, but will not run at all with the 1.66 multiplier which is the one I need. My bios will not let me change the CAS latency from the stock CL2. But the memory runs fine and CL2 at the rated 433mhz with the 2.0 multiplier. Shouldnt it run fine at 433mhz with the 1.66 multiplier when I overclock? I would like to recieve opinions on whether you think my problem is the bios not letting me raise the latency to CAS 2.5,or 3,,,,, or do you think it is a problem with the mobo or bios where the 1.66 multiplier simply in inoperable. Please help, It kills me running at 3.7Ghz, 1,042 FSB, and only getting 333mhz memory speed. I use a phase cooling system so my cpu is not hot, and my systme temps never get above 32c. Thanks in advance for any help I can get.
