I just got a 3D Prophet II Geforce2 GTS Pro a couple of days ago. The gaming performance is absolutely awesome, but I've got a couple of weird problems with the card.

First, I've got my power setting configured so that my hard drive stays on all the time and that my system never goes on standby. However, I do have it set so that my monitor shuts off after 15 minutes (no screen saver). Well, the problem I'm getting is that when the monitor shuts off and then I move the mouse to make it come back on I just have a mess on my screen. It's like a whole bunch of colored lines going up and down the screen, kind of like the lines you see when a tv station ends it broadcast for the night except a lot thinner. I know the system isn't locking up because when I move the mouse a small square on the screen moves with it. Also, if I hit Ctrl-Alt-Del a couple of times I can get the system to restart. Any ideas?

Second, I have a Hauppauge Win-TVGo card. It worked fine with my old Voodoo3, but now I'm having problems. In regular screen mode the picture is fine. But when I go to full screen mode I get horizontal trailing lines when there is motion on the screen or when the picture changes. The best way to explain it is that it looks kind of like when you have trailing enabled for your mouse. The lines trail the motion on screen and then fade away.

I've done a format and clean install of Windows 98 SE since getting the card, so I don't think it's a driver conflict related problem.

Thanks for any help,

>I would recommend you go to Nvidia site and download the 631 driver .uninstall your current video driver to standard VGA and in your add/remove programs. Remove any video drivers that are listed.Reboot and install the 631 driver from Nvidia.

Okay, it just did it again, except this time it completely froze up.....no Ctrl-Alt-Del, no nothing. I had to hit the reset button.

Yeah. Those are two bugs I came across as well. It happens only with Windows ME. It also only happens on one of my systems. On the other ones it doesn't happen and on the system that it does happen, it only happens with Windows ME, not Windows 98. Let me try it with a newer driver and see how it goes. The system it happens on is a Dell system. As for the TV tuner problem, go to:

www.geforcefaq.com

There is a fix for TV tuners. Its very easy to fix. Cheers.

Its weird. I get that problem with Hercules drivers but I don't get it with the NVIDIA reference drivers. You may want to try it with the NVIDIA drivers. I am using a 3D Prophet II Pro as well.

Doh. Nevermind. It only worked fine once. Haven't been able to get it working fine since. None of my other NVIDIA cards have that problem though. I think its specific to the Hercules Prophet II Pro.
