I'm looking at buying a laptop and have been looking around. But I was confused by looking at the Dells. They have an add where this laptop comes with something like a P III 1.1 -M. And then in their little side bar where the recomned "upgrades" they list a P III 1.1 without the -M on it. What is the difference?

"-m" is a .13 micron processor. it'll run cooler and faster than the standard p3 cpu and since it uses less power, battery life will be better. it also has an enhanced speedstep technology (to also aid in saving power).

it's definitely the cpu you want.

<< So why would dell say to "upgrade" to the one w/out the M? that makes no sense???

Simple, its marketing. They get you to pay more for less.
