Can someone please explain a few things...

Greetings,

I am confused on a few things, and came up empty handed after sifting through the FAQ's.

Can someone please explain the following:

1.) Is the Athlon 4 the Palamino? If so, is it on the market now? What Mhz does it range in?

2.) When is the VIA KT266A based motherboard expected to arrive on the streets?

3.) Where did ECS motherboards come from? I have never heard of them... are they reliable?

4.) Any direct comparisions of which of these systems would be faster and difference in price?

A) KT266A based motherboard, 256MB DDR RAM, Athlon 1.4Ghz 266mhz

or

B) Tyan Tiger MP, 256MB DDR RAM, x2 Athlon 1.4ghz 266mhz

or

C) A similar P4 based system.

Thanks!

1) yes, only the MP version is out now, will launch at 1.47 ghz i think? or something like that

3) they've been out there for a long time. Mostly no frills board, usually w/ onboard stuff. They're the parent to pc chips, altho I don't know if they use the exact same boards or not...

The Athlon4, AthlonMP are based on the Palamino core.
The rumor for the KT266A is a month before we see them.
I never heard of ECS either.
Here's just one comparison.
System type depends on what you plan to use it for, if you want straight out power then either the dual Athlon or the fastest couple of speeds for the P4.
