Hi everyone, i'm not really interested in the actually setting up of a dns server on linux, because i already have a book that goes through it very well. instead, i was wondering if i have to register it somewhere?
when godaddy.com asks me for dns servers, they say:
"Please enter valid name server host names present in the Network Solutions registry below (do not enter IP Addresses)."
is this unique to godaddy.com, in that they dont' allow ip addresses? if so, who does allow ip addresses? since i don't have a dns server name for my dns server, like ns1.mydomain.com or something, i'd have to point to it by IP address. i'd really appreciate the information any of you can offer thank you very mcuh!
