Can someone Name this Liquor Please?

Last night, a group of use were drinking with some Columbians who said they brought this drink with them from Columbia, but that you could buy it around Miami, Orlando, etc. It tasted like Black Licorice, but was NOT sambuca, or anisette (sp?). It started with an A and had a really long Spanish sounding name. Like probably 15 letters long or so. I think it was a brand native to Columbia. Any help?

No, it wasn't Absinthe or Ouzo either. It was clear. It really fvcked me up too.
