Can someone ID this insect for me?

It's a West Virginian Cattle Locust, one of the few remaining species in the genus cattleus. They have an interesting life cycle in which the female gets the male inebriated on fermented nectar of the rare Brown lotus and seduces him in order to fertilize her eggs. After which she saddles him with larvae support for 18 days, a considerable period considering the life span of the average cattle locust is ~75 days.

Wait I'm full of sh!t nevermind.

You made that up?

Nope it's all true. The similarities between human social activities and those of Cattle Locusts are well documented. The infamous Massey Prenuptual Agreement is largely based on the ability of certain strains of Cattle Locusts to retain their food stores after the mating process is concluded.

I like SlitheryDee's answer better. Consequently, you are wrong.

I must admit I'm also rather partial to his answer, especially the "Wait I'm full of sh!t nevermind" part :p
