hi everyone...my girl friends computer has been crashing every 15-30 min since last night...ever since i uninstall world of warcraft...i've been trying to reinstall it, but the computer keeps crashing...just shuts off...even if i just leave the computer on, it still crashes...i thought it would be that power supply not having enough power...so i took off 2 case fans, but didn't work...did a system restore, still didn't work...scan for addware, found 111, but couldn't delete them becuse system crash again...

computer spec
Motherboard Name Gigabyte GA-K8NS
40g hardrive
6600gt 8x lead tech
1 cd player, 1 dvd player
400 watt power supply
window xp pro sp2
512 pdp ram pc3200

can anyone help???

1. Work on sentence structure, its hard to figure out what you're saying
2. Who makes your power supply, it seems like it might be the problem, because you are saying it just "shuts off", either PSU or motherboard

edit: wrong forum, should be in general hardware, but w/e

Its most definitely the power supply :D
When it crashes, does it give you a Windows error and crash, or does it just shut off?
Also, try letting it idle in the BIOS setup screen, does it shut off then?

Sometimes if the plug from teh PSU to the motherboard is loose, it'll do that, otherwise its the PSU, are you sure your processor isn't overheating and the motherboard is automatically shutting it off, most motherboards do that

i just check the power supply wire to the mobo...its on there tight...and i don't think the processor is over heating...the cpu fan is blowing at 4000 rpm...bio says its at 35c

I'd have to say its the PSU
If your saying its a Codegen PSU, I'm assuming it came with the case, dump it, get an Antec or Enermax PSU
