First question:
http://www.pokeorder.com/yugioh.html

What dictates the price of the card packs? Is it the quality/strength of the cards or how long they've been released or...? The pricing seems pretty random if each booster pack is equally stacked with low/high value cards.

Second Q:
Whats the easiest/cost effective way to get started?

I bought a starter deck and a few booster packs - i looked up the prices for some of the cards and figure i could sell them for roughly half what the etailers list them for, that way i could at least try to keep this a zero cost game for myself - is that realistic?

For example...
http://www.pokeorder.com/yuch3setdasr.html
I got a couple of those, listed at $15. I'm thinkin of putting it on CL for like $7. Are there enough people that play/pay that thats feasible?

Third Q:
Anyone know of any websites to teach the basics of building a good deck?

Thanks in advance! I've been trying to figure out a good way to bond with my nephew for a long time and this is one of the few things i think he's interested in that i could have fun with too.

:)

Tell him to stop dumping money into Yu Gi Oh since its horribly expensive. Try something cheaper like Magic the Gathering or something.

don't listen to this man.

Tell him to start Warhammer Fantasy or 40k. Much more expensive. Provide him with cash flow and spoil the crap out of him to annoy his parents.

Does he not have extra cards to make another deck? My brother used to have enough cards for like 5 decks and that's what I used to play against him. Depending on the skill of your nephew, something like the warrior structure deck should be good enough. Any of the structure decks are generally decent enough and are relatively cheap. If I remember correctly, the starter deck is junk though.

I guess thats true, but he's kinda weird about other people using his cards, and the deck he uses is pretty strong compared to anything else he has.
