Can someone help me with this?

My Windows XP is acting strange for past month.. I finally decided to post about it.

Whenever I try to run Disk Cleanup, it never passes the "compress files" part. Once I left it for about an hour, and it was still stuck. I end up Alt-Ctrl-Delete to force close it. Another strange symptom is I also have a 3rd party clean up prog called HDValet and it becomes stuck as well. This clearly shows something is wrong with XP or the harddrive. Can someone help me? Besides that there is no problem at all.

i cant help ya but you mentioned your using windows xp? then maybe the OS Forum would help you?
