...to install my new MSI 7950 card?

I have an APU with 6550 D graphics. My motherboard is MSI A75A-G55 FM1. Do I need to uninstall the driver for the 6550 D 1st? If so, what is the 2nd step? Do I install the new driver, then the video card or vice versa? Also, do I need to do anything in the bios of my motherboard?

Thank you very much for any help given.

I install the physical card first, then the drivers for this card either through the included disc or by downloading them off the manufactures website if you dont have a disc. Then once the card and drivers are installed I uninstall the old card's drivers.
I have never had an issue doing it this way so you shouldn't have a problem. After uninstalling the old drivers I would use a program like ccleaner to clean old registry settings and cache in order to help avoid any driver issues. Also you should go into the bios and disable onboard video through integrated peripherals or on board devices menu in your bios. You may have to go into advanced tab to find it.

Good luck and grats on the new card!

yes, 12.10 is the correct version as it states. supports the following hardware
AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series
AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series
AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series
AMD Radeon HD 6000 Series
AMD Radeon HD 5000 Series
AMD Mobility Radeon HD 7000M Series
AMD Mobility Radeon HD 6000M Series
AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series
The beta 12.11 drivers are also available but just stick to 12.10 unless you come across a game breaking bug or issue that requires beta drivers to fix.
Beta driver download is here http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst1211betadriver.aspx

uninstall old driver, shutdown and install new GPU, restart into BIOS and disable the APU/iGPU, start windows and install latest AMD drivers. Restart once more and game on.

Much thanks Enku and cmdrdredd. Got the 7950 installed, had a little problems with the sound card and the screen on my hdtv not getting filled fully. Took me awhile and finally my Xonar is working and the screen problem was fixed by moving the overscan slider to 0. If I had known it was that simple, it wouldn't have taken me nearly an hour to get everything running:) .
