I feel kinda dumb here, because I should know this stuff, but my car amp has 3 settings for the crossover.

Look at this pic...

What I dont get is, why are there low pass and high pass settings? Shouldnt there just be one xover setting to just block the low end (or high end if needed..?)

Anyway, I want to block all frequencies under 80Hz and let my subwoofer (on another amp, which I can set fine on my own) handle the lows from there...

Also, I know (basically) what low/high pass filters are, but what the heck is the plain old filter for? What should that be set at??? Full, low or high?

The filter tells it what to do... High or Low Pass. Since you want just above 80Hz to pass, you set it to High.

2 Interfire Amplifiers (I dont know model numbers) and Pioneer speakers with a 12" Kicker sub.

I got it from my bro and never really messed around with it, I figure I have a day off so I might go and tweak it a bit.
