Can someone help me understand the result?

I'm reading an introductory text regarding MPEG. I encountered this:

"One of the formats defined for HDTV broadcasting within the United States is 1920 pixels horizontally by 1080 lines vertically, at 30 frames per second. If these numbers are all multiplied together, along with 8 bits for each of the three primary colors, the total data rate required would be approximately 1.5 Gb/sec."

How was 1.5 Gb/sec derived?

I tried multiplying the values, but couldn't get close to 1.5Gb.

Ah... I knew I forgot something. I thought it was 8bits for all 3 colors. I re-read it again and it is 8bits for each of the 3 colors. That works out. Thanks!
