I turned on my Samsung notebook today and there were all these weird lines and blocks on the screen and it won't let me use it. Could someone tell me what's wrong and how to fix it? Thank you
 
Welcome to the forum, first thing is to check the video card by connecting to an external monitor or TV. If you do this is the display ok on the external ?
 
take the battery out and while the battery is out keep it unpowered/unplugged from power supply and hold down the power button for 15-30 seconds.

now plug battery back in and turn back on. Same thing?
