It would depend on the algorithm and number of bits used, but your hard drive is only 4 GB?

Actually no, I have my entire HDD encrypted with little performance hit. There are numerous ways to do this umder linux. I am using 256-AES.

Agreed I would do this then use PGPDisk to encrypt the important stuff.

if i use diskcrypt to encrypt my boot sector, like it says, does that really not encrypt anything?

i mean, if someone wanted too they could just look at the raw data and put together files
