I just removed the mobo for cleaning and reinstalled all the hard ware...The i I cant get to POSt and all i get is this long srepetitive beep....Tried re-seating the RAM and video card again, then removed them one by one till all i had left was the video card and the mobo and all i still had was the same long beep.
I tried booting outside the PC and still the same result.

Tried two sets of RAM and two video cards and the same results.

Mobo is the epox8K3A.

Pleae help me out.

Also i tried looking at sites withe the beep ID codes, but i cant find one for a continous long beep.

I just RMA'd a mb for the same thing. It is a memory issue. Either you scratched the mb and messed up something or one of the standoffs is touching something it is not supposed to.

That's exactly what will happen if the video card is not fully seated. But if indeed it is a memory slot issue, it is unlikely that all the slots went bad at the same time. Try a single stick of memory in different sockets. But if you changed any of the settings in the bios and that caused the problem, reset it to default, or clear it via the jumper on the motherboard first.

Try taking out the video card, and put in a PCI one to see if that helps. You did clear the bios via the jumper, yes? And one stick of memory at a time, correct?

If the problem persists, try taking the m/b out of the case, and running it like that. Perhaps it is shorting out?

Very small can be very bad. My scratch I thought just tore the sticker that was on the board. But since I got the new MB everything is working just fine.

Then it looks like that small scratch cut at least one critical lead. Time to break out the RMA gun, and shoot that thing back for a new one.
