Can someone help me here? My floppy is powered up, but won't read!!!

The light is on and power and IDE cables are plugged in, but it says please insert a disk when I click on the A drive. I have a disk in! Any suggestions? Thanks.

try another disk, then try another drive

Yeah, it does.

one of 3 things.

#1 drive bad
#2 drive dirty
#3 cable upside down (though this usually faults the POST, and the ligth will ALWAYS stay lit)
